Surfing in Ocean

Northbound Route

Starting near Faro, the journey begins on the Algarve’s west coast, where exposed beaches and clifftop views set the tone for the first days. From here, the route heads north into the Alentejo, a quieter and less developed stretch of coastline defined by long beaches, small towns, and a slower pace.

As the week continues, the landscape becomes more familiar and surf-focused, passing through the versatile breaks around Peniche before finishing near Lisbon. The final days offer reliable surf, good coffee, and an easy re-entry into city life, closing the journey in a relaxed and natural way.

Each stop is chosen for its surf potential, overnight comfort, and sense of place — creating a route that feels cohesive, unhurried, and connected to the coast.

Day 1 – Arrival & West Coast Start (Faro → Sagres)

Meet the group at Faro airport and go to the first campsite in Sagres, where the vans await. Settle into your campervan before heading west to Sagres. A group BBQ and introduction to the week ahead, with time for a beach walk or surf to ease into the trip.

Day 2 – Surf & Settle

Sagres / Arrifana

A full day on the Algarve’s west coast. Guided surf session in the morning, followed by a relaxed afternoon to explore beaches, cliffs, or simply slow down. No long drives, no pressure.

Day 3 – Slow Morning & Northbound Drive

Arrifana → Alentejo

We head south to Peniche, home to a variety of beach breaks. This is a high-energy surf day with plenty of options depending on conditions, ending with a laid-back evening near the beach.

After a morning surf, we begin the journey north into the Alentejo. The pace shifts here — fewer people, longer beaches, and a quieter atmosphere define the day.

Day 4 – Wild Coast Reset Alentejo

A full day on the Alentejo coast. Optional surf session, long beach walks, and plenty of space to rest and recharge before heading back toward more populated surf regions.

Day 5 – Surf Playground Alentejo → Peniche

We return to surf-rich territory around Peniche, where multiple beach breaks offer flexibility for all levels. A high-energy surf day balanced with an easy evening near the coast.

Day 6 – Ease Back In

Peniche → Ericeira

The final drive brings us north to Ericeira. A guided surf session, café stops, and a group BBQ or relaxed dinner mark the final full day of the journey.

Day 7 – Departure

Ericeira → Lisbon

A short drive back toward Lisbon for departures. The trip ends with an easy transfer, leaving plenty of time to reflect on the week before heading onward.
