Portugal Southbound
Our southbound journey follows Portugal’s Atlantic edge, travelling from Lisbon to Faro over seven days of coastal roads, surf breaks, and unhurried stops.
Meeting at the Campervan Depot near Lisbon airport, we ease into the trip along the wave-rich coastline of Ericeira and Peniche before heading south through the quieter beaches of the Alentejo. As the landscape opens up, we arrive on the Algarve’s west coast, where dramatic cliffs, golden light, and consistent surf set the tone for the final days.
The route balances active mornings with relaxed afternoons, mixing guided surf sessions, scenic drives, and time to explore coastal towns, beaches, and clifftop paths. With two longer stays built into the week, the pace stays comfortable and unforced — allowing space to settle into life on the road.
The journey finishes in the Algarve, where guests transfer to Faro Airport while the vans are reset for the return northbound trip.

7-day guided campervan journey along the Portuguese coast
A carefully planned route from Lisbon to Faro, led by experienced guides travelling in a support vehicle. -
Campervan rental for the full trip
Fully equipped vans shared by two guests, with insurance and basic equipment included. -
6 guided surf sessions (1.5 hours each)
Delivered by licensed local surf schools, with boards and wetsuits provided. Sessions are adapted daily to conditions and group level. -
Small group experience
Maximum of 12 guests, ensuring a relaxed pace, personalised guidance, and a strong group dynamic. -
Overnight stays at authorised campervan locations
Selected campsites and camper areas along the route, chosen for location, comfort, and atmosphere. -
Three group BBQ evenings
Casual shared meals at selected stops, including food and drinks. -
Drinks during the week
A generous supply of beer and non-alcoholic drinks for relaxed evenings together. -
Faro airport transfer at the end of the trip
Minibus transfer from the final stop to Faro Airport on departure day. -
On-trip support and logistics
Daily briefings, route planning, surf coordination, and local knowledge throughout the week.
